This Limited Warranty Policy sets out the terms and conditions under which Sciener provides warranty coverage for its products.

By purchasing or using Sciener’s hardware devices, software, or related services (collectively, the “Products”), you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Warranty Policy.

This Policy applies to:

  • Products purchased through our website (www.sciener.my) and authorized channels.
  • Hardware devices, including smart locks and related accessories.
  • Associated software and services provided with the Products.

Please read this Warranty Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms, please refrain from using or purchasing the Products.

1. Warranty Coverage & Period

  • Duration: 1 year (extending any existing warranty) for products purchased directly from www.sciener.my and installed in Malaysia.
  • Start Date: Begins the day after the existing warranty expires (unless specified otherwise).
  • Coverage Includes:
    • Free replacement parts for manufacturing defects (verified by Sciener).
    • Repair or replacement with new or refurbished equivalent parts.
    • Excluded Costs: Labor, transport, locksmith fees, or incidental expenses.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To claim warranty service, you must provide:

  • Original proof of purchase (invoice).
  • Video/documentation of the defect.
  • Proof of ownership.

To claim warranty service, you must provide:

  • Purchased from resellers/distributors (contact seller for support).
  • Installed outside Malaysia.
  • Required documentation is missing.

3. What’s Not Covered

This warranty excludes:

  • Physical Damage: Cosmetic issues (scratches, dents), non-functional parts, or consumables (e.g., batteries, keys).
  • Misuse/Modifications:
    • Jailbroken/rooted devices or unauthorized software.
    • Improper installation, accidents, or neglect (e.g., liquid damage, power surges).
  • External Factors:
    • Acts of nature (floods, fires), pests, or extreme environmental conditions.
    • Third-party repairs or incompatible accessories.
  • Service Delays: Loss of use during repairs or part shortages.

4. Service Terms

Sciener reserves the right to:

  • Replace defective parts with equivalent new or refurbished components.
  • Retain replaced parts as property of Sciener.
  • Modify warranty terms due to legal/operational changes (with or without notice).

Obsolete Products: Warranty may be denied for discontinued models.

5. Costs & Limitations

Customer Responsibility:

  • All labor, transport, and locksmith fees.
  • Costs for repairs outside warranty scope (e.g., accidental damage).

Consequential Damages: Sciener is not liable for indirect losses (e.g., downtime, data loss).
